Policy
A direct explanation of what Vistream processes, what stays on your device, and what happens when you connect to remote media.
Effective October 10, 2026 / Version 1.1
What Vistream does
Vistream is a media playback application. It lets you open and play media stored on your device or accessed through a remote media address. This policy applies to the Vistream app and support services linked from it.
Information processed on your device
Core playback features may use local file locations, playlists, playback position, playback history, preferences, and app settings. This information may remain on your device. Vistream does not upload your local media files to us simply because you open or play them.
When you use remote media
If you open a remote media address, your device connects to the host providing that media. The host may receive your IP address, device or browser user agent, request time, and the media address requested. That activity is governed by the host's own privacy policy and terms.
Support and technical information
If you contact support, we receive the email address and information you choose to send. We may also receive limited technical diagnostics, such as app version, operating system, device model, and crash details, when provided through your device or support request. We use this information to answer you, investigate problems, and improve reliability.
How information is used
We use information to provide playback features, save preferences, respond to support requests, investigate crashes, protect the service, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use local media content for advertising or sell local media files.
In short: local playback data stays on your device unless you choose to share it with us or a third-party media host.
Third parties, retention, and your choices
Vistream may rely on Apple platform services, app distribution services, hosting providers, email providers, or crash diagnostics providers. These providers process information as needed to provide their services and under their own terms and privacy policies.
Local playback history, playlists, and settings can be removed through Vistream when controls are available, or by deleting the app and its stored data. Support messages and technical records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, disputes, or legal requirements.
You may request access to or deletion of personal information that Vistream controls by emailing [email protected]. Vistream is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when Vistream or its data practices change. The effective date above shows when this version took effect. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
